Howard Fensterman is a well-known philanthropist and humanitarian who contributes to various charitable sources. He supports organizations that improve individuals’ lives and has contributed extensively to charities that focus on medical research and treatment and finding cures for debilitating diseases.

In May 2023, Howard was honored at the 36th Annual Geraldo Rivera Golf Classic by Life’s WORC (Life’s Willingness to Overcome through Resources and Community), a non-profit organization that helps individuals with disabilities and their families. County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Life’s WORC founder Vicki Schneps, and renowned journalist Geraldo Rivera were among the attendees. Geraldo Rivera, who has been in the journalism business for over 50 years, was also presented with a certificate.

Mr. Fensterman was co-honoree at the 25th Annual We Care Fund Golf & Tennis Classic, hosted by the Nassau County Bar Association. His law firm, Abrams, Fensterman, LLP, also participates in charitable work and sponsors numerous community events. The latest one was a walk for the Alzheimer’s Association on October 1st and 22nd, 2023, in Long Island, New York.

In November 2022, Howard was named one of the 100 authoritative business people in Long Island. Also in November, Long Island Newsday published an article by Mr. Fensterman on New York progressive narratives and the need to focus on more traditional values.

Charitable Contributions

Mr. Fensterman strongly believes in ‘tzedakah,’ which means justice or righteousness. Although this word traditionally has a religious connotation, today, it refers to a spontaneous act of goodwill.

Howard believes we should give back to our communities and help support charities that improve people’s lives. Two of his donations stand out: The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America’s Long (CCFA) and Chabad of Port Washington.

As a renowned philanthropist on Long Island, Mr. Fensterman is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Long Island Chapter of CCFA, which offers charitable services to more than 30,000 individuals who suffer from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The charity foundation provides education and outreach programs to individuals affected by this disease.

Since the foundation is not government-sponsored, it relies on individual donations to finance its activities. Howard has provided the foundation with considerable grants that have supported the research, education, and outreach programs. Due to his generous contributions, the CCFA’s Board of Trustees named him “Man of the Year” in 2011.

In December 2015, Howard sponsored the organization’s Gift of Hope and Life program that benefited the Israel Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Thanks to his generous involvement and donations, the foundation has been able to fund various charitable projects, including an impressive educational campus located in Port Washington. Mr. Fensterman’s substantial funding for these charitable organizations has helped them expand their scope of activities.
