The mission of the Chabad of Port Washington “… is to provide important services that bring tangible benefits to the lives of the community, such as day care to children of working mothers. We also offer after school programming, youth sports activities, adult education and crisis intervention.”
Chabad’s objective is to bring all Jews together to learn and practice the Torah, regardless of their level of religious commitment or practice.
In 2008, Howard Fensterman joined the Board of Trustees of Chabad. The Board is responsible for making decisions for Chabad of Port Washington, which includes the Chabad Shul, Preschool, Day school, Hebrew School, Camp, Mikvah and Adult Education programs.
In 2009, Mr. Fensterman was honored as Chabad Board Dinner Chairman.
In June 2012, Mr. Fensterman was Chabad’s Guest of Honor.
Howard gave an passionate speech about the Chabad Rebbe at the Chabad Annual Dinner in December, 2015.
On June 8, 2016, Howard and his son, Jordan Fensterman, were honored at the Silver Anniversary of Chabad, Port Washington for outstanding work and philanthropy to the organization. Known as “Dor L’Dor”, it represents generation to generation of honored, continued commitment to the Chabad.
